96% AFUE
The GD9T960403BN gas furnace is 96% efficient. This efficiency means that 4% of the fuel going into the furnace is lost out of the flue venting, while 96% of the fuel is actually used to heat your home. As a condensing furnace, this furnace will need to be vented with plastic or PVC flue venting. If you are looking for a furnace that requires metal flue venting, you would need an 80% efficient furnace.
Two Stage 9-Speed Furnace
With a two stage burner, the GD9T960403BN provides two heating outputs: one at a 60% heating output for warmer days and one at a 100% output for when you need the furnace most. The furnace also has a 9 speed ECM motor instead of an inefficient PSC motor. Both of these upgrades provide a better efficiency with a more stable output to better heat your home through all seasons of use.

The outer casing on the GD9T960403BN gas furnace is heavy-gauge steel with enhanced insulated for better protection and lower air leakage and sound output, providing more comfort to your home. The new hot surface ignitor replaces the standing pilot light for a more efficient startup.

Naturally, the GD9T960403BN comes with natural gas valves built in. However, increasing its installation potential, the GD9T960403BN can be field converted with the LP conversion kit (found here, for an extra fee) if you need it to be propane. Not only does the Goodman brand save you money on installation costs, but also with maintenance and warranty work. In the event of a rare warranty issue, the self-diagnostic control board alerts you and your serviceman what is wrong with the unit for most basic issues for a faster solution to almost any problem.
