Important

Design & Operation
Electric Heat Accessory
The EHK15AKB heater coil mounts directly into the compatible ACiQ fan coil or air handler cabinet. When energized, the electric elements provide resistance heat that is delivered through the existing duct system using the indoor blower. This allows you to add efficient electric heating capacity without replacing the entire air handler or ductwork.
Staged Heating Capability
The 15 kW heater can be configured by the installing contractor for multi-stage operation using the heater’s internal relays and time-delay controls. When properly wired and staged, this allows the system to bring on heat in steps rather than all at once, helping improve comfort and reduce electrical demand spikes.

Installation & Maintenance
Installation of the ACiQ 15 kW heater coil includes mounting the heater assembly in the approved fan coil or air handler, attaching the circuit breaker or fuse assembly (if included), connecting the heater harness to the control board, and bringing field power and ground conductors to the designated lugs or terminal block. Your technician will also verify blower CFM, adjust fan speed taps or ECM settings as needed, and confirm proper staging and operation according to the installation manuals.
All service, wiring changes, and heater staging adjustments should be performed only by qualified personnel familiar with high-voltage electric heat accessories and with the proper tools and test instruments. Periodic inspection of electrical connections and breakers/fuses is recommended to ensure continued safe operation.
