High-Pressure Switch

The high-pressure switch is a safety device that shuts the system down if the refrigerant pressure exceeds safe limits. This usually happens if the outdoor fan fails or the Condenser Coil is extremely dirty. It protects your Inverter Compressor from exploding or suffering mechanical failure. In our Sophia Series, this switch will trigger an error code to alert you to the problem. You can find a guide to error codes and Help on our website. Once the pressure drops and the issue is resolved, the switch can usually be reset. It is a critical safety component for both Single-Zone and multi-zone systems. Regular Annual Inspections ensure this switch is always ready to act.
