Grounding Wire

A grounding wire is a critical safety component that provides a safe path for electricity to follow in the event of a short circuit. Every ductless mini split requires a continuous ground from the main panel to the outdoor unit, and from the outdoor unit to the indoor head. This is usually part of the communication wire (14/4) or the main power whip. Proper grounding protects your expensive electronics from power surges and prevents electrical shocks. It is a mandatory requirement for all electrical installations and building codes. We recommend that a licensed electrician verifies your grounding before the first startup. It is an "invisible" safety feature that is essential for your warranty policy.
