Expansion Valve (Manual)
While most of our systems use an Electronic Expansion Valve (EEV), some older or basic units may use a manual or capillary tube expansion device. These devices regulate the flow of refrigerant into the Evaporator Coil based on fixed physical properties. However, they are far less efficient than the smart, variable valves found in our Sophia Series. We focus on providing the most modern Inverter Technology to give you the highest energy savings. Manual valves are more prone to "hunting" or inconsistent temperatures in varying weather. You can find more about how our valves manage comfort in the Series Info section. Upgrading to a system with an EEV is a smart way to maximize your Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) benefits. It is a small part that makes a massive difference in daily performance.
