Disconnect Box

A disconnect box is a safety device installed near the outdoor condenser that allows for the electrical power to be shut off quickly. It is a requirement by the National Electrical Code (NEC) for all HVAC installations to ensure the safety of service technicians. We offer both 30 Amp Non-Fused and Fusible Disconnect Boxes to meet your local building codes. Inside the box, a pull-out handle or switch breaks the circuit between the main panel and the unit. This is the primary point of connection for the Electrical Whip that runs to your condenser. Most boxes are housed in a weather-resistant metallic or plastic casing to withstand the rain and sun. It is a critical component for both residential Single-Zone and Commercial Packaged Units. Including this in your order ensures your installation is up to code and safe for future maintenance. Never attempt to service your unit without first engaging the disconnect switch.
