Base Pan Heater

A base pan heater is an electric heating element located at the bottom of the outdoor condenser unit to prevent ice from accumulating during the defrost cycle. Without this heater, melted frost can refreeze and damage the fan blades or the coil in sub-zero temperatures. This feature is a requirement for anyone living in northern climates who relies on heat pump systems for primary heating. Many of our Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat models include this as a standard factory-installed component. It ensures that even during a blizzard, your heat pump condensers remain operational and safe from ice-jacking. It is an essential part of the "Hyper-Heat" technology stack for extreme winter reliability.
